The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and moon are not eclipsed due to the death of anyone. If you see them eclipse, pray and supplicate until that condition is lifted." [Bukhari] And another hadith states, "The sun and moon are two signs from among Allah's signs. They are not eclipsed due to the death or life of anyone. If you see them eclipse, then supplicate Allah, glorify Him, and give charity."
Allah the Exalted tells His Beloved Messenger ﷺ to inform us of the ways we should express our joy.
He says ﷻ, [O Prophet] say, “In Allah’s grace and mercy let them rejoice. That is far better than whatever [wealth] they amass.” [Quran 10:58] And there is no greater blessing and mercy than the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing of Allah be upon him.
Our program will include counsels that are aimed at connecting the listener to the Prophet ﷺ, his Sunna, and his teachings. The more we know about his life, character, and way, the more we will come to love and follow the one beloved to Allah.
We will be joined by esteemed guests Dr. Shadee Elmasry, Mufti Hussain Kamani, Shaykh Ismail Bowers, Shaykh Yahya Rhodus, & Ustadh Amjad Tarsin
Alongside the Mawlid talks, we will have children's activities, followed by Maghrib prayer and dinner.
We ask Allah to make this blessed month of Rabi’ al-Awwal one of great blessings, mercy, and alleviation for the entire Umma.

When experiencing natural events of such cosmic proportions, the Sunna of our Prophet ﷺ is to witness Allah's power and majesty, which should inspire within us fear and awe.
May Allah accept our prayers, forgive our sins, and ward off all harm and punishment from us and the Umma of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Please join us at Al-Maqasid as we commemorate the blessed Day of 'Ashura, the 10th of Muharram. Al-Maqasid will be observing 'Ashura on Thursday, June 25th, 2026. The program will begin at 7:30 PM and consist of dhikr and a reflection regarding the significance of this blessed day. The program will conclude with du'a and a community potluck iftar after Maghrib.
A monthly men’s discussion group to cultivate wellbeing
We will continue our introductory series titled Foundations of Islam: A Commentary on Hadith Jibril (Part 3). Delivered as a multi-part series, this topic is designed to provide participants with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the core framework of Islam. Part 3 will focus on an elucidation of iman and ihsan.
We encourage the community to look for the crescent moon of Muharram tomorrow evening up to 30 minutes after Maghrib at Hills at Lockridge Bandshell.
May Allah make us amongst those who conclude Dhul Hijjah and the 1447 Hijri year in the best of states. Amin.
Please join us for the collective recitation of the End of Year Du'a. The New Year Du'a will then be recited immediately after Maghrib. May Allah accept all our good deeds this year, turn our sins into good deeds and give us a blessed khatim for the year and a bountiful new year.
