Position Summary: (In-office - Macungie, PA)

The Qur’an Hifz Teacher  is responsible for assisting students with the memorization, proper pronunciation, retention, and understanding of Qu’ran.  The Qur’an teacher will help build the Hifz program and develop the curriculum. They will work with individuals and groups from age 7 to adult in our Formal Learning programs (Madrasa, Academy, and Seminary).


Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and developing curriculum for effective teaching

  • Prepare course long range plan, Hifz plans and homework materials

  • Teacher to focus on Quran Hifz and Tajweed and be able to work with groups and individuals 

  • Help students develop proper tools and techniques to memorize Qur’an 

  • Able to adapt the Hifz course plan to each student’s ability and potential

  • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom.

  • Evaluate each student and create teaching strategies based on the individual’s pace

  • Track progress of each student  and maintain detailed records of progress 

  • Follow a process for formal and informal ongoing assessment of students, including report cards, progress reports and marking. Feedback to be provided to students and administration. 

  • Discuss students' progress and concerns with parents and administrators


Qualifications

  • Deep alignment with Islamic principles and the mission of Al-Maqasid.

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience (Ijaaza) in teaching Qur’an.

  • Experience teaching Quran with proper Tajweed

  • Experiencing teaching basic Islamic Studies

  • Proficiency in the Arabic Language 

  • Experience effectively managing a classroom and student behavior

  • Ability to adapt instructions based on the needs of the students

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Commitment

It is expected that the Qur’an Hifz Teacher  will require a minimum of 40  hours per week
