Alhamdulillah, the blessed month of Ramadan 1440 AH is soon approaching. The expected first day of Ramadan is May 6th (depending on local moonsighting), and Al-Maqasid looks forward to bringing our community together once again for a month of ibada, togetherness and beautiful memories. May this period of purification bring abundant blessings for all, and allow our faith to blossom, drawing us nearer to Him!
Our regular programs for the blessed month are:
Daily Rawha before Maghrib, from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Tarawih prayers following ‘Isha at 9:45pm. At Al-Maqasid we pray 20 rakats of Tarawih prayers, but include a short break with a brief talk after the first 8 rakat. Those who need to leave early may then do so before the remaining 12 rakat are performed.
For those who wish to remain afterwards, we offer additional Qur’an recitation, dhikr, du’a, and spiritual discourse, nightly.
Iftars are held with catered dinners each Saturday to bring our beautiful community together, immediately after maghrib prayers in the green barn. The dates are: May 11th, 18th, 25th and June 1st.
In addition, there are two special programs planned for this Ramadan:
Laylat al Qadr will be observed on the 27th of Ramadan, insha’Allah. Dinner will be served after maghrib in the green barn, followed by a program starting after Tarawih and a special Qiyam program around 1:30am.
A celebration of our Khatm of the Qur’an will be held on the 29th of Ramadan, insha’Allah, with sweets and special gifts for children to highlight and commemorate the night.
Please note that our regular Thursday Mawlids and Sunday Burda recitations will not be observed during this month.
May Allah allow our intentions for a rewarding, beautiful month be realized and our efforts be accepted!
