Alhamdulillah, the blessed month of Ramadan 1440 AH has arrived. May this period of purification bring abundant blessings for all, and allow our faith to blossom, drawing us nearer to Him!

Our regular programs for the blessed month are:

  • Daily Rawha before Maghrib, from 6:30pm-7:30pm (6pm-7pm on the weekend), we will be reading from "The Spheres of Islam, Iman, Ihsan & 'Irfan" by Habib `Abd al-Rahman Balfaqih. Copies will be available from the bookstore.

  • Tarawih prayers following ‘Isha at 10:15pm. At Al-Maqasid we pray 20 rakats of Tarawih prayers, but include a short break with a brief talk after the first 8 rakat. Those who need to leave early may then do so before the remaining 12 rakat are performed.

  • For those who wish to remain afterwards, we offer additional Qur’an recitation, dhikr, du’a, and spiritual discourse, nightly.

  • Iftars are held with catered dinners each Saturday to bring our beautiful community together, immediately after maghrib prayers in the green barn. The dates are: May 11th, 18th, 25th and June 1st.

In addition, there are two special programs planned for this Ramadan:

  • Laylat al Qadr will be observed on the 27th of Ramadan (Friday the 31st of May), insha’Allah. Tarawih will be followed by a special Qiyam program.
    Program Details:

    • 1:30 - 2:30 Qiyam

    • 2:30 - 3:15 Suhoor

    • 3:15 - 3:30 Adhkar followed by Fajr

  • A celebration of our Khatm of the Qur’an will be held on the 29th of Ramadan (Sunday the 2nd of June), insha’Allah, with sweets and special gifts for children to highlight and commemorate the night. We will be reciting from Surah Duha to Surah Al-Nass in tarawih, followed by a collective du'a, coffee and sweets. We encourage you to attend with your family to celebrate this occasion.

  • Eid Night Khatm, pending moon sighting, we will be meeting Tuesday or Wednesday morning at 2:00 AM for a collective Khatm of the Qur'an and du’a followed by Fajr prayer.

Please note that our regular Thursday Mawlids and Sunday Burda recitations will not be observed during this month.

May Allah allow our intentions for a rewarding, beautiful month be realized and our efforts be accepted!
