DESCRIPTION:

We are pleased to announce that Al-Maqasid will be holding I'tikaf during the last ten nights of this blessed month of Ramadan.

Our mother, Sayyida Aisha described our Beloved Messenger ﷺ as exerting himself even more so in the last ten nights of Ramadan. The Prophet ﷺ would spend I'tikaf in his blessed mosque to teach us to direct ourselves to Allah with even greater need and focus. It is a Sunna that Muslims observe by secluding themselves in a room or in a part of the mosque in order to spend all of one's time in worship and devotion.

The blessed Sunna of I'tikaf (which means adherence to or consistency in something) provides us with an opportunity to have our hearts be even more present with Allah and to turn to Him with greater focus by being in an environment that minimizes distractions and worldly responsibilities.

The daily i'tikaf program will consist of but not limited to the following:

  • Qiyam Al-Layl

  • Tadabbur (Reflection/Interactive Session)

  • Salat al-Tasbih (20 mins)

  • Lesson from Heaven Explored

  • Pre-Fajr Awrad

  • Daily Iftar

We welcome you to register and join in this blessed Sunna and elevate your last ten nights of Ramadan.

Registration

  • I'tikaf begins Sunday 3/31/24 and ends on Tuesday 4/9/24

  • The I'tikaf is for ages 16+ and Men only.

May Allah the Exalted accept our worship, enable us to see the last ten days of Ramadan and witness Laylatul Qadr in all its splendor and protect our communities, families, loved ones, and all the Muslims.
